Luxe Outdoor Environments of Scottsdale | Landscapes & Pools
ROC license · CR-21- Builds new pools
- Remodels and resurfacing
- Pebble interior finishes
Scottsdale has the highest concentration of actual builders of any city in this directory. Fifty-one pool companies are listed, and 27 of them confirm they build new pools. That is better than half, against roughly a third in Phoenix. If you are planning a build rather than a repair, the odds that any given company on this page can take the job are far better here than anywhere else in the state.
The firms also describe themselves differently. Twenty-five of the 51 take on outdoor living work, which is close to the same number that build pools, and many present themselves as design-build or outdoor environment companies rather than pool contractors. In practice that means the first conversation is often about the whole backyard: the pool, the ramada, the kitchen, the fire feature, the planting and the lighting, priced and built as one project rather than coordinated across four trades by you.
Twenty-two companies here work on decking and pavers, and 21 build water features. Spas appear on 23 listings, the highest proportion of any city in this directory, which fits a market where a raised spillover spa attached to the pool is close to standard rather than an upgrade. Pebble interior finishes show on 10, fewer than in Tucson, and fiberglass barely registers at 2. Gunite remains the method almost everything here is built with.
Financing is mentioned by 11 of the 51, a noticeably smaller share than in Tucson, where 18 of 67 raise it. Read that for what it is worth: fewer Scottsdale firms lead with payment plans, which does not mean they cannot arrange one. If budget structure matters to you, raise it yourself on the first call rather than waiting to see whether it comes up.

Twenty-nine Scottsdale companies appear on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors posting list dated 2026-10-02, and 18 of those hold a class that permits pool construction. The number and class sit on each listing. Check it regardless: the Registrar's search is free, confirms whether a license is still active, and lists complaints. B-5 and B-6 cover residential pool construction, A-9 and A-19 cover commercial, and KA-5 or KA-6 covers both. A company holding only CR-6, R-6 or C-6 is licensed to service and repair, not to build.
This is a residential market almost exclusively. Only seven of the 51 companies here mention commercial pool work, the lowest share of the three largest cities in this directory, so most Scottsdale firms spend their time in private backyards rather than on hotel and HOA contracts. If you are commissioning a pool for an apartment building or a community, your shortlist is genuinely narrow and worth assembling before you start calling.
Two things worth asking in this market specifically. First, who actually performs the work, because design-build firms frequently carry the design and project management in house and subcontract excavation, steel, shotcrete and finish trades. That is normal and not a problem, but you want to know who will be in your yard and who warranties what. Second, ask what the quote excludes. On a project that bundles pool, hardscape and landscape, the exclusions are where the surprises live, and comparing two bids means comparing what each one leaves out as carefully as what it puts in.
Fifty-one pool companies are listed in Scottsdale and 27 confirm they build new pools. That is the highest ratio of builders to service companies of any city in this directory, so more than half the field can take on a new build.
Many do. Twenty-five of the 51 companies listed here take on outdoor living work alongside pools, including ramadas, outdoor kitchens, fire features and landscaping, and several describe themselves as design-build firms rather than pool contractors.
Twenty-three of the Scottsdale listings confirm spa or hot tub work, the highest proportion in this directory. A raised spa spilling into the pool is a common part of a Scottsdale build rather than an unusual addition.

Eleven of the 51 companies listed here mention financing on their websites, a smaller share than in some other Arizona markets. Raise it yourself on the first call if it matters, since firms that do not advertise it can often still arrange it.
